Floor-Barre®Technique

A free class with Lenore Pavlakos Morales, Ballet Mistress, NJDTE

Floor-Barre® combines ballet with anatomical principles of alignment. Utilizing the floor, without the pressure of gravity, Floor-BarreTM allows muscles to relax by aligning the shoulders and pelvis with the legs and feet. Through the practice of Zena Rommett’s Floor-Barre® Technique you lengthen the legs and create more space in the hip sockets. You find an increase in turnout as your inner thigh muscles strengthen by the use of parallel exercises. When you stand up you find yourself feeling taller, lighter and correctly aligned, prepared to approach movement with a new sense of freedom.

Ms. Pavlakos-Morales is a native of Brooklyn, NY and graduate of The Juilliard School where she received her BFA Degree in dance. Her professional career includes Eglevsky Ballet, Maryland Ballet & Eugene Ballet before joining The Dance Theatre of Harlem. Currently she Ballet Mistress at New Jersey Dance Theater Ensemble, a pre-professional training school in Summit NJ. She continues to teach master classes throughout the US and is delighted to be a returning faculty member of the West Virginia Dance Festival.
